Quéntar is a small village of some 1000 inhabitants just entering Sierra Nevada. It has a turquois colored dam.
Quéntar is a very peaceful village and ideal as a base camp for turistical visits to Granada (13 km), or the beach(Salobreņa, Almuņecar 70 km).
You can do skiing, paragliding or mountaneering in Sierra Nevada (30 km).
Guadix (30 km)is well known for its cave houses.

The international airport of Granada is at 30 km with direct flights to London, Midlands, Frankfurt and Milan.
